Rithvik Raja – Podcast
“Something that I have learned from this is to never take things for granted and to value every single relationship that we have….”
– Rithvik Raja
Vocalist Sri. Rithvik Raja articulately gives us a detailed glimpse into many aspects of his life, before and during Corona. He states that since 2009, when he began performing, he has never been at home for 21 days at a stretch like this! He delves into his collection of LP records, the many musical aspects he is exploring (such as learning all of the TiruppAvais directly from Ariyakudi Sri. Ramanuja Iyengar’s recordings) and a lot more.
This podcast is part of the Quarantunes series, featuring Indian Classical Musicians, recorded during the worldwide shutdown resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Released one by one, all the podcasts are at https://lakshmianand.com
Sri. Rithvik’s name has figured multiple times in my discussions with musicians, both for his enviable collection of good Carnatic music AND his musical astuteness.
After initial training from his mother, Smt. Sudha Raja, and a few years with Smt. Sulochana Pattabhiraman, Sri. Rithvik has been under the tutelage of Sri. TM Krishna since 2003.
