The grandson and disciple of Sangita Kalanidhi Palghat Sri. R. Raghu, Sri. Anantha R. Krishnan began performing at age 7, and has won several awards for his mridangam skills. Don’t miss the ten minute clip of his mridangam playing at the end of his talk!

Sri. Anantha shares his contemplative musings on the current situation and mentions his commitment of sharing a segment of his practice every day of this 21 day quarantine period, one of which is included in this podcast.

Besides tabla from Ustad Zakir Hussain, he learned western percussion whilst at Dartmouth College and Mills College where he completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, respectively.
