N Guruprasad – Podcast
Sri. N Guruprasad is a prolific percussionist, specialising in the ghatam. He is known for his unobtrusive but highly supportive playing that accents the overall music on stage. He had his initial training under his father Sri. K Nagaraja Rao, and later from Shri T.H. Vinayakram. He received subsequent training from Shri V. Suresh, and Madurai Sri T. Srinivasan. Sri Guruprasad has played at many august locations including the Kennedy Centre in Washington DC, at the Lincoln Centre in New York, at the Incredible India festival at The Oval in England, with the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra and more. He has received several honours including the Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from the Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Kalki Krishnamurthy award.
