Quarantunes Podcast – Dr. R Hemalatha

Dr. Hemalatha is a disciple of Late Sri T. S. Narayana Rao, and is an A Top ranked violinist of All India Radio. She has been performing for over 30 years and is widely traveled.

A Doctorate in Music, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Indian Music, University of Madras. Her doctorate thesis was on “A Study of the Ragangaraga-s in the Sangita SampradAya Pradarsini of Subbarama Dikshitar” and she worked on the “Desi Raga-s of Post Ratnakara period” for her MPhil thesis. Dr. Hemalatha has presented several lectures and demonstrations. She is a recipient of the ‘Kalaimamani’ award from the Government of Tamil Nadu.
